Peconic is a small hamlet in the Town of Southold, set between Southold to the east and Cutchogue to the west on Long Island's North Fork. Main Road runs through it, and most of what you see from the road is farmland and vineyards.

On the Sound side, Goldsmith Inlet opens from Long Island Sound, with Goldsmith Inlet County Park along it. Farm stands on Main Road and the roads around the hamlet sell what the fields grow in season.

Peconic's housing is spread out. Farmhouses and older homes sit along Main Road and the roads through the fields, some on larger lots, and cottages and homes near the water are found toward the Sound. Newer builds stand on land that was once farmland, and there is a mix of year round homes and seasonal ones. Because the hamlet is small, we also look at comparable sales in neighboring Southold and Cutchogue when we price a home here.

Peconic has no LIRR station of its own. The Southold station is just to the east, and Mattituck is a short drive west. Team Rivera now serves Peconic from our HQ in Saint James. We come out for showings, valuations, and listing appointments, and a search here can take in the neighboring hamlets too.
